Three kinds of community

Open
Anyone at the club can join with one tap. Open communities have recommended levels and are listed for everyone.

Level-gated
Players join if their verified rating sits inside the band, say 3.5 to 4.0. Verified means a rating from your club or a coach. Gated communities keep play even.

Private
Invitation only: a standing game, a team, a circle of friends. Nobody can find it or ask to join. Someone inside adds you.
What players do in a community
- Sign up in one tap. Players can sign up for all the upcoming sessions in a group at once, even across groups.
- See who is going. Each session shows which friends have signed up, and players can nudge the ones who have not.
- Talk between sessions. The conversation that used to live in a group text lives with your club, with a heads-up when new sessions open.
How it works at your club
Your club connects its CourtReserve API key. The schedule, events and player list sync automatically, so a community's sessions are your real sessions. CourtReserve stays the source of truth: every sign-up, booking and roster lives there, so players without the app are never left out of a session.
Who communities are for
Clubs that want their regular groups to organize themselves around the club's own courts and calendar instead of an outside text thread. Players at any club, with or without CourtReserve, can also start invite-only private communities of their own, free.
Which plan includes communities
Communities are part of the Club Tier. A demo walks through what each plan includes.
Common questions
What is a PqlPlay community?
A group of players who play together at your club. It can be open to everyone, limited to a rating band, or private and invitation only.
Do players need the app to play in a session?
No. CourtReserve stays the source of truth for every sign-up, booking and roster, so players without the app are never left out of a session.
How is a private community different from a group text?
A private community is invitation only and cannot be found or requested. Its sessions show who has signed up, friends are called out, and the conversation sits with the club instead of in a text chain.
Does it work with CourtReserve?
Yes. A club connects with its CourtReserve API key, and its schedule, events and player list sync automatically. Nothing to migrate or re-enter.
